2. Data collected, purposes and legal basis

We collect the data you enter in the registration and abstract forms: name, title, e-mail address, affiliation, billing address, country, VAT identification number, student status, talk title, abstract, co-authors and comments.

We use these data only to organize NUMDIFF-18, in particular

• to handle your registration and to issue the invoice for the registration fee (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, and Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR for the statutory retention of accounting records),
• to contact you about the conference,
• to publish your name, affiliation, talk title, co-authors and abstract in the conference programme and the Book of Abstracts (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, your consent),
• to show your name, affiliation, country and talk title in the public list of participants on this website (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, your consent), unless you opt out in the registration form or later by e-mail. The list also shows the total numbers of registrations, countries and abstracts, without names.

The forms are hosted on a server of the Institute of Mathematics. No cookies are set and no tracking or analytics services are used. The web server records technical access data (IP address, time, requested page) in its log files to ensure secure operation; these are kept only for a short period and then deleted automatically.

3. Recipients

Your data are processed by the conference organizers. Billing data are passed to the finance department of Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg for invoicing. Beyond that, your data are not passed to third parties, except for the published programme and Book of Abstracts as described above.

4. Retention

Registration data are deleted once they are no longer needed for organizing and settling the conference. Accounting records are kept by the university for the periods required by law. The programme and the Book of Abstracts remain published as a scientific record of the conference. If you opt out of the list of participants later, you are removed from it with the next update.

5. Your rights

You have the right

• to withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR),
• to obtain information about the personal data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
• to have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed (Art. 16 GDPR),
• to have your data erased (Art. 17 GDPR),
• to have processing restricted under the conditions of Art. 18 GDPR,
• to receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
• to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is:
